The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Network aims to provide postgraduate research and career support to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander scholars at Griffith University.
This includes advocating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander aspirations for research higher degrees, facilitating pathways for academic career progression and mentoring emerging researcher-academics.
The Network Co-ordinator, Dr Chris Matthews, drives the Network operations and facilitates Griffith's response to the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community research and development agenda.

Maths model helps Indigenous students learn
A Griffith University-led research project aims to improve mathematical learning for Indigenous students in remote communities. Six schools in the east Kimberley region have taken part in the project which is exploring quality learning environments for students, teachers and Aboriginal Education workers. The schools, which range from 30 to 250 students, are located in self-governing communities.
